SUSTAINABILITY
Here at Burton Lodge guest house, we are continuing to take further steps to being more sustainable and eco-friendly all the time. We are proud of how far we have come and want to share with you how we have become more kind to our planet as a business.
FILTERED WATER DISPENSER
Unlike many other hotels/guest houses we do not supply our rooms with bottled water. We decided not to contribute to plastic waste and instead supply each room with a carafe which they can fill using the filtered water dispenser in the landing of the main Guest House.
BIO HEATING SYSTEM BIOMASS
A fuel material derived from any
biological (plant or animal) source. Wood fuel, is just one type of biomass from a list of many. Biomass is carbon neutral as it releases the same amount of CO2 when burned as it has absorbed during its life. It is therefore sustainable, renewable and reduces your emissions by up to 96%, according to the Biomass Energy Centre.
SOLAR PANELS
At Burton Lodge, we are committed to sustainability. In November 2023, we installed 49 solar panels on our spa, providing clean, zero-emission energy for heating and electrics across our site. By harnessing solar power, we’re reducing our carbon footprint while ensuring a more eco-friendly experience for our guests.
WE ASK YOU
We also ask you for your cooperation in the use of room towels. We provide each guest with a set of freshly laundered towels. If you are staying with us for more than one night please only put the towels that really need changing in the bath during your stay. We can all help save the planet together.
